Jomanda - Got A Love For You (1992)

Initially a huge crossover dance/pop hit released on Big Beat Records in 1992, the Steve Silk Hurley mixes were some of his best work, driving frantic dancers to the center of the dancefloor the moment the song dropped in. Re-released just one year later on Pyro-Tech Records with Charlie Casanova rave mixes, those remixes broadened the appeal of this killer Jomanda song. I had always been a huge fan of the group...pretty much everything they put out was big for me. Got A Love For You wasn't my favorite, but sheer populaity made me play the tune, it always packed the dancefloor. As soon as the Casanova mixes came out, back when he was spinning at Palladium in New York City, i was all over this tune again. Serious energy. This showed me what a remix should be....an IMPROVEMENT of the original. Orat least, a different take on it. Lots of remixes tend to weaken the iriginal. Not here.
