Gwen McRae - Keep The Fire Burning (1982)

Fantastic single from Gwen McRae, wife of disco legend George McRae (Disco Lady). She is a legend herself needless to say, with huge hits like 'Rocking Chair' and ' Funky Sensation' to her credit. This Atlantic Records release is way under-rated, it was pretty big in the clubs anyway. Funky, witha driving bassline....has all the elements of a pre-house garage classic. Re-made by a few artists since its release, this one nonetheless still stands tall as the best version.
