"Electric Avenue" is a song by
Eddy Grant. It was released in 1982, and went on to be very popular, reaching #2 on both US and UK singles charts. It was included in the 1983 album Killer on the Rampage, and has been covered by several other artists since then. The song is named after Electric Avenue, a market street in the Brixton area of London, England. The B-Side to this song is a Non-LP track entitled
"Time Warp." While Grant is known for reggae flavored pop hits, Electric Avenue being very well known and a huge worldwide hit, its this disco flavored b-side that makes my lift. Did I say disco ? cuz it is. Sounds nothing like Eddie grant. Shows his range.
