Viola Wills - If You Could Read My Mind (1980)

I was in college when this came out. Torn between rock (Petty, U2, Supertramp, Pink Floyd) and the end of the disco era and the start of new wave. This was one of the first records I ever bought, I bought the album.(Ariola Records) I loved the Gorden lightfoot original, which was a number one record worldwide back in the day. This was disco pleasure. Not at all cheesy, it more classy.  It actually is a fantastic remake. Viola Wills version peaked at number two for five weeks on the dance/disco charts with her dance version of the song in 1980.
