"American Dream" is a 2000 song by Jakatta.(Joey Negro) The track samples two Thomas Newman pieces from the soundtrack for the Academy Award winning film American Beauty. A re-release "American Dream (remix)" was released in 2001. The track is extremely unusual in Dance Music, since it is written in 6-4 time and does not have the usual four-to-the-floor beat.
The single peaked at #3 in the UK and #63 in Australia. The 2001 remix re-release peaked at #63 in the UK.
